Key Highlights of the Maharashtra Budget 2025:

Infrastructure Developments:

  • Airports: Domestic flights at Navi Mumbai International Airport are set to begin next month, with 85% of the work completed. Additionally, a third airport near Vadhavan Port is proposed, with operations expected by 2030.

  • Metro Connectivity: The plans involve establishing a metro link to connect Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport with Navi Mumbai International Airport, aiming to improve connectivity.

Cultural and Tourism Initiatives: The budget designates funds for the construction of memorials dedicated to historical figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Agra, Sambhaji Maharaj at Sangameshwar, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai, with the goal of enhancing tourism and celebrating Maharashtra's heritage.

Road and Transportation Projects: Major investments are slated for road development, such as the Vadhavan Port project and the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Sea Link, with the goal of enhancing transportation infrastructure and decreasing travel durations.

Social Welfare Programs: The government intends to boost financial support for women's welfare initiatives, like the Ladki Bahin Yojana, which will aid more than 2.5 crore women with stipends amounting to ₹33,232 crore. Funding for other welfare schemes, including those for Scheduled Castes and Tribes, has also been substantially increased.

These initiatives reflect the government's focus on industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare to drive Maharashtra's development in the coming fiscal year.
